Chris D'Elia describes himself as an actor who does stand-up. Before he was a sold-out stand-up comedian, he first dabbled as an actor. Nonetheless, he is stellar in both. His comedic style highlights rapid-fire delivery, observational humor, and charismatic storytelling. It is not an overstatement to call him a comedic maverick with his repertoire and command on stage. You need to see him.
Chris D'Elia is a Montclair, New Jersey native. He was exposed to the nuances of TV shows and movies at a young age. This was thanks to his father, who is a television producer. When he went to high school, he began to act. He would then appear in guest roles in TV shows like Chicago Hope. He pursued acting when he went to New York University but then decided to stop.
He first dabbled in stand-up comedy in 2006. He then appeared on Comedy Central's Live at Gotham, Comedy Central Presents, and Showtime's Live Nude Comedy. These stints started his upward trajectory among the ranks of comedians. In 2011, he was cast in the comedy-drama show Glory Daze. His role as Stankowski became a show favorite, which led to him receiving more traction. Other shows where he appeared are The Good Doctor, Huge in France, You, Life in a Year, and Undateable.
Currently, the incredible comic has produced many Netflix specials. His first recorded special was Incorrigible in 2015. This was followed by Man on Fire in 2017. His last one is No Pain, which was a boredom killer during the height of the pandemic in 2020.
Other than doing stand-up and acting, he hosts multiple podcasts. Ten Minute Podcast, Congratulations, and King and The Sting are among his podcast shows.
On social media, he posted videos imitating Eminem. These videos became viral in 2018 and 2019, racking millions and millions of views. The legendary rap artist even noticed his impersonation and invited him to appear in the Homicide music video as the rapper.
Chris D'Ela headlines his "Don't Push Me Tour." One of his stops is at the Academy of Music on December 2. Don't miss this show!
