Hamilton at Academy of Music

After appearances in the world’s most popular theaters including Broadway itself and London’s West End, Hamilton will now also be on tour for a limited season this November in Academy Of Music of Philadelphia, an equally famous theatre known for its best facilities fit to host top-of-the-line productions and shows.

Hamilton honors the life of Alexander Hamilton, produced and composed by the multi-talented Lin-Manuel Miranda, based off the 2004 biography of Ron Chernow. It retells the real life of Hamilton himself in a ‘hipper’ manner, being dedicated to the truth behind his life but with and musical choices that makes Hamilton very entertaining. The show actually began off Broadway in August of 2015 and was instantly met with awesome reviews for its debut. Among numerous press articles and reviewers, The Washington Post, called it “making ecstatic history”, as Hamilton’s opening night with its awesome cast including the likes of the musical's creator Miranda himself in the lead role and Tony Award winner Jonathan Groff, astounded audiences in its first performance with a vibrant opening night. Hamilton went on over the next ten years to earn 11 Tony Awards from 16 nominations, as well as Olivier, Grammy, and Pulitzer Prize Awards.

Since it began in 2015, the production has since traveled to perform in lots of venues across the globe, where it has been receiving continuously raving reviews. BroadwayWorld calls The Musical “the hottest ticket in town”, as it appeals to a broad range in audience due to it being relatable to both the older audiences who came for the history behind Hamilton, and the newer generations that hears about the new and creative approach behind this show. In London’s West End, TimeOut had concerns over Hamilton being overhyped, but that “Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical about Alexander Hamilton, the first secretary of the U.S. Treasury, is actually better than the hype suggests”. Even just recently the touring cast in its Manila, Philippines’ performance, PEP PH describes Hamilton as a “visual and sensory feast that adds layers of depth to the narrative”; “This musical is a masterpiece not because it tells a flawless story, but because it brilliantly captures the essence of the imperfect human experience, and in doing so, it achieves perfection on the stage”, they add.

Magazine critics and viewers alike agree that the Musical is a must-watch this fall as it kicks off its tour all over the world.
